Heat Advisory Issued For MA, RI Not As Hot
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Massachusetts Monday but Rhode Island wasn't as bad.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Massachusetts on Monday but temperatures in Rhode Island were not as high.
The advisory warned that the heat index might climb to 96 degrees and, coupled with high humidity, may "cause heat illnesses."
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the National Weather Service said.

The advisory was to last until 8 p.m. Monday.
In Rhode Island, there was a slight chance of showers Monday afternoon with a high around 81. There was a chance of thunderstorms in the evening with temperatures dropping to about 70.

The Tuesday forecast again called for a chance of thunderstorms with a high of 86. A chance of thunderstorms was again expected Tuesday night, along with a low of about 69.
