North Smithfield Woman Charged With Computer Crime: Cops

The woman stole more than $10,000, police said.

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — A North Smithfield woman was charged with stealing more than $10,000 and gaining access to a computer with illicit intent, police said.

Kim Dicostanzo, 63, was arrested June 17 and charged with obtaining money by false pretenses, over $10,000, and access to a computer for fraudulent purpose, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

The state police Financial Crimes Unit arrested Dicostanzo, the state police said.

Dicostanzo was "processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released on $10,000 personal recognizance," according to the state police.
