The alert was for increased drug overdose activity from July 1 through Sunday in the northwestern and southwestern sections of the state, including Burrillville, Foster, Glocester, Scituate, East Greenwich, West Greenwich, Exeter, Richmond and Hopkinton.
"These alerts are issued when a Rhode Island municipality or region has more non-fatal overdoses than usual in a week," RIDOH posted on Facebook.
