Police Swarm North Kingstown Beach: Reports
A shot was fired, outlets reported, and an officer was hospitalized.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — There was a large police presence at North Kingstown Beach Friday evening, multiple media outlets reported.
WPRI reported it was "unclear exactly what happened" but that a "12 News has confirmed that a Rhode Island State Police trooper was injured in the incident."
The Rhode Island State Police did not immediately respond to a request for information on the incident. The North Kingstown Police said Friday night a statement was not available "at this time."

GoLocalProv reported a North Kingstown officer was hospitalized.
"A North Kingstown office was injured and was transported to the hospital, and police discharged weapons," the site said.

A manhunt was on in the aftermath of the incident, according to 7 News Boston.
"Police are searching for a person who bailed from a car in Webster, in connection to a shooting in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, according to officials," the network said.
