Severe Thunderstorm Watch Across Rhode Island Thursday Evening
The storms should pass well before the start of the Fourth of July holiday the next day.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch across the entire state of Rhode Island for Thursday evening.
The severe thunderstorm watch was to last until 10 p.m.
The storms were expected to start before 7 p.m.

"Some of the storms could be severe," the National Weather Service reported.
"Chance of precipitation is 30%," according to the forecast. "New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms."

Whether it storms Thursday night or not, the forecast for the Fourth of July on Friday was clear and dry.
