5 Things to Know About Today

Cloudy and thunderstorms; make your own comics; see another teacher movie; tennis workouts; circus skills workshop.

Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:

  1. Cloudy in the morning with isolated thunderstorms later in the day and a high temperature of 77 degrees.
  2. The children’s room in the Barrington library holds a workshop to create your own comics with the guidance of the Providence Comics Consortium at 3:30 pm. Call 247-1920 ext. 4 to see if space is still available.
  3. The film series, Teacher Movies Through the Years, continues today at 7 pm with "Freedom Writer’s," starring Hilary Swank and with the RI Department of Education’s Gino Sangiuliano leading a follow-up discussion.
  4. Barrington Neighbors and Newcomers hosts tennis drills and a workout at Centre Court Tennis, 55 Hospital Road, Riverside, every morning starting at 9 am.
  5. Barrington Community Theater offers a Circus Skills Workshop every Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the middle school. You can learn a variety of skills, including Juggling, Hula Hoop Dancing, Poi Spinning, Stilt Walking, Unicycling, Yo-Yo tricks, and many more! $20 at the door.
