5 Things to Know About Today

Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:

1. Partly cloudy early with showers later in the day and a high temperature around 65 degrees.
2. The film-lecture series, “Audrey in the Afternoon,” continues at 1 pm in the Barrington library auditorium with Nun’s Story; the salute to Audrey Hepburn is led by librarian and film enthusiast Doug Swiszcz, who will provide commentary.
3. The Barrington Council of Republican Women hosts a reception and briefing by Barrington's Republican town officials at 6:30 pm at the home of Charlie and Kay Chapin, 10 Blount Circle.  The event is free and open to the public. 
4. Join a discussion of the renowned book, When Bad Things Happen to Good People, by Rabbi Harold S. Kushner at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, from 6 to 8 pm.
5. Instructor Jamie Dufresne, marketing coordinator for The Children's Workshop child-care company, will share some social media tactics that will save your company time and money at 16 Cutler St., Warren, the East Bay Chamber of Commerce building, from 12 to 1:30 pm; there is a $5 fee for lunch.
