5 Things to Know About Today

Sunny and warmer; Aquatics Job Fair at YMCA; Origami Poetry Project at library; play badminton at middle school; BCA theater students offer musical.

Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:

  1. Mostly sunny with high temperatures reaching 76 degrees.
  2. Calling all lifeguards: the Bayside YMCA at the end of West Street is hosting an Aquatics Job Fair starting at 10 am for indoor and outdoor lifeguards and swimming instructors.
  3. Enjoy an evening of poetry with the Origami Poetry Project at 7 pm in the Barrington library; guest poets Lori Desrosiers, editor of Naugatuck River Review, and Bill Carpenter, of Ocean State Poets, will read from micro-chapbooks -- a single sheet of paper folded origami style into a palm-sized book.
  4. Play badminton every Thursday night in May and June at the Barrington Middle School; the cost is $5 per night and no pre-registration required.
  5. The high school theatre department at Barrington Christian Academy, 9 Old County Road, presents the first showing of the musical "" at 7 pm.
