5 Things to Know About Today

Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:
- Mostly sunny with high temperatures reaching 76 degrees.
- Calling all lifeguards: the Bayside YMCA at the end of West Street is hosting an Aquatics Job Fair starting at 10 am for indoor and outdoor lifeguards and swimming instructors.
- Enjoy an evening of poetry with the Origami Poetry Project at 7 pm in the Barrington library; guest poets Lori Desrosiers, editor of Naugatuck River Review, and Bill Carpenter, of Ocean State Poets, will read from micro-chapbooks -- a single sheet of paper folded origami style into a palm-sized book.
- Play badminton every Thursday night in May and June at the Barrington Middle School; the cost is $5 per night and no pre-registration required.
- The high school theatre department at Barrington Christian Academy, 9 Old County Road, presents the first showing of the musical "" at 7 pm.
