Amelia 'Mimi' Thivierge, 90, Barrington Resident for 79 Years

Her funeral service and visitation will be Wednesday morning, July 24, at Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home in Warren.

Amelia "Mimi" Thivierge, a resident of Barrington for 79 years, passed away July 20, 2013 surrounded by her family in Orchard View Manor. She was 90.

She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Thivierge. Born in Barrington, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Assunta (Tanzi) Marcello.

Affectionately known as Mimi, she devoted her life as caretaker to many family members and friends. She loved to laugh, joke and especially cook. Her favorite time was Christmas Eve when family and friends gathered to savor the countless family favorites and traditional foods cooked to perfection.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed bingo and word games. Mimi will be remembered as a strong and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was the mother of Elaine Thivierge of Riverside and Ernest J. Thivierge, Jr. and his wife Donna of Bristol; proud grandmother of Ernest J. Thivierge, III and his wife Valerie, their children Trista and Trent of Dighton, MA and sister of Nicholas Marcello and Louise Motta and her husband Joseph of Barrington.

Her funeral with visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, at 8:30 am from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home,  615 Main St., Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Angel's Church, 341 Maple Ave., Barrington.

Burial will follow in Maria del Campo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Holy Angels Church.
