Barrington Beach Shut Down Again
High bacteria counts in the water force town to shut down the beach until at least late Friday afternoon.

Barrington Beach has been closed again until further notice because of high bacteria counts in the water.
The Rhode Island Health Department contacted Barrington this afternoon, July 24, and recommended the closure, said Barrington Recreation Director Michele Geremia.
Water samples will be taken again Thursday morning and sent to the health department. There is a typical 24-hour turnaround to get results so it is likely that the beach will be closed until at least late Friday afternoon.
