Barrington Man Caught With Loaded 'Ghost Gun': Police

Police say Hongnian Guo, 50, of Barrington was also caught with a loaded Sig Sauer 0.45 caliber pistol and more than $100,000 in cash.

BARRINGTON, RI — A Barrington man was arrested Monday after police said he was caught with a "ghost gun," a firearm without a serial number.

Hongnian Guo was charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a ghost gun or undetectable firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.

Around 5 p.m. Rhode Island Sheriff’s Department requested help from Barrington police in serving no-contact and vacate orders to Guo, stemming from a prior complaint. Police said Guo was served the orders and was allowed to gather some of his belongings before leaving.

But while still on scene, officers learned there was possibly a gun in the home. Police said officers searched and seized a loaded P80 9-mm "ghost gun equipped with a 27-round large capacity magazine.

Police said they drafted an arrest warrant and charged Guo around 9 p.m. According to police, officers also seized a loaded Sig Sauer 0.45 caliber pistol and more than $100,000 in cash.

"[Guo] was transported to RI Hospital for a medical condition (unrelated to his arrest) where he was eventually arraigned by a bail commissioner and turned over to the care and custody of the RI Sheriff’s Department," a Barrington police spokesperson said in a news release.

Police said Guo will appear before a district court judge at a future date.
