Cynthia R. Kovolyan-Janetokos, Quilter at St. Luke's

Her calling hours are Tuesday and her funeral service is Wednesday from the Smit-Mason Funeral Home, Riverside.

Cynthia R. Kovolyan-Janetakos, of Old River Road, Barrington, has died peacefully at home.

She was the wife of James Janetakos. Born in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Genevieve (Ciccone) DeLong. 

She was a graduate of Kent State University and a professional Long Arm Quilter and owned Completed Kreative Journey. She was a member of several quilting groups, including The Machine Quilters Showcase, the U.S. Quilters Association and was past president of the Barrington area PEO.

She was an active communicant of St. Luke’s Church in Barrington, and was a member of the church choir, a leader of the Prayer Shawl Knitting Group, and led the St. Gabriel Clothing Project making baby blankets and hats. She was a Parish Hall Group Leader, and provided the Holy Eucharist at local nursing homes.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, James Charles “JC” Kovolyan of Barrington, Kurt Kovolyan of Millville, MA, Eric Kovolyan of Seekonk, MA, two daughters-in-law, Terrie and Heather Kovolyan, four grandchildren; Jack, Ava, Trey and Genevieve. She is also survived by step-sisters and step-brothers and extended family in Kent Ohio.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 9 am from the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Road, Barrington at 10 am. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 9, from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Luke’s School would be appreciated.
