Hearn Appointed to NEBHE Board
Rep. Joy Hearn of Barrington and East Providence now represents the RI House of Representatives on the New England Board of Higher Education.

Rep. Joy Hearn (D-Dist. 66, Barrington, East Providence) has been appointed to the New England Board of Higher Education.
āI am honored to have been appointed to the board this year, as I have made education a priority,ā Hearn said. āI am passionate about education in Rhode Island and I believe we can learn a great deal from our neighboring states. Helping to assist in developing and designing the future of education is exciting.ā

Speaker of the House Gordon D. Fox appointed Hearn to be a delegate on behalf of the Rhode Island House of Representatives. Eight delegates from each New England state are appointed to the board, representing the regionās leaders in education, business and government.
The board also has a supporting staff of professionals who work with public and private partners throughout New England to strengthen relationships in the region and promote efficient use of educational resources.
