To make sure you are ready for the hurricane season, Home Depot stores in this area are hosting “hurricane preparedness workshops” on Saturday, July 27, from 10 to 11:30 am.
The workshops are described this way: “The Home Depot experts will cover critical hurricane readiness topics, such as storm prep projects, generator safety, sizing generators for specific home or business needs and assembling disaster preparedness kits.”

Stop by the Barrington farmers market at the Barrington Congregational Church on Saturday, July 27, from 9 am to noon.
Vendors offer seasonal produce, breads, pastries and other home-grown goods. Among the usual vendors are New Urban Farmers in Pawtucket, Aquidneck Honey in Middletown, Providence Coffee Roasters in Providence, Nettie's Kettle Corn in North Providence, Oakdale Farm in Rehoboth, and Seven Stars Bakery in Providence and East Providence.

The Barrington Summer Concert Series continues on Sunday evening, July 28, at Government Center with the husband and wife folk duo, Atwater-Donnelly.
They will perform traditional American and Celtic folk music and dance, along with original songs and poetry starting at 6 pm. Bring your own chairs and blankets for a show that always gets your feet tapping.
Temple Habonim on New Meadow Road shows the second of three films, “Hava Nagila,” in a summer series that explores Judaism.
The movie is described as a documentary romp throughthe meaning of this great Jewish standard. It includes interviews are with Harry Belafonte, Leonard Nimoy, Connie Francis, Glen Campbell, and more and follows the song on its journey from the shteltls of Eastern Europe to the cul-de-sacs of America to Youtube. It was released in 2012 and featured at the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center as well as in theaters throughout the country.
Like to sing?
The Music Program of Barrington Presbyterian Church offers a full summer choir and music program each week. A solo vocalist or instrumentalist is featured with a choir -- a non-membership ensemble open to all ages and skill levels.
The choir meets Sunday morning at 9:30 for a quick rehearsal and then sings one piece of music in the 10 am worship service. You are welcome on any day that you’re available to sing.
