'Audrey' Film Series Airs 'Nun's Story'
The "Audrey in the Afternoon' film-lecture series continues today at 1 pm in the Barrington library auditorium.
āAudrey in the Afternoon,ā a multi-week film lecture series celebrating actress Audrey Hepburn, continues today with 'Nun's Story."
The film series is being presented by librarian and film enthusiast Doug Swiszcz on Wednesdays at 1 pm in the Barrington Library auditorium.
"The Nunās Story is based on the true story of a young woman in 1930s Belgium who joins the convent and faces a great spiritual struggle with her vows of charity, humility and obedience," said Swiszcz.

"Hepburnās portrayal proved her dramatic acting abilities after a series of lighter roles, and earned her the New York Film Critics Best Actress award," he said.
Fred Zinnemann, who directed such classics as High Noon and From Here to Eternity, directed this film, Swiszcz said.

The 1959 film is in color, runs for 149 minutes, and is preceded by commentary from Swiszcz. It is free and open to all.
The series continues with Breakfast at Tiffanyās on May 22; My Fair Lady on May 29; and Charade on June 5.
