A Cranston man, 25, was found asleep at the wheel with his foot on the brake in a running car that was in gear outside the Talbots women's clothing store in the Barrington Shopping Plaza late Sunday afternoon, Aug. 25. He now faces a DUI charge.
Ulysses A. Hernandez, of 271 Smith St., was found around %:30 pm sitting in a 2010 Honda with his eyes closed and drooling from the mouth, according to the Barrington police. Police received multiple calls about the man, who allegedly had been spotted driving erratically on County Road before pulling into the plaza.
The callers reported that they thought he might be suffering from some type of medical condition.Â

A search of the vehicle found a green beer bottle, LaCross said. He submitted to two Breathalyzer tests: one showed his blood alcohol level at .20; the other showed it at .205. Both are more than double the .08 limit in Rhode Island.
Hernandez was taken to the police station to be arraigned by a justice of the peace. He was released after he sobered up with a date to appear in District Court to face the drunk-driving charge, second offense. He also was issued a summons for driving without a license.
