New $68M Barrington Middle School: Groundbreaking Set
Construction on the new Barrington Middle School will start in May and is expected to be completed by September 2019.
BARRINGTON, RI — Construction will start next month on the new $68 million Barrington Middle School. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held May 7; the project is expected to be completed by September 2019. Barrington voters in 2017 approved the project in a special town meeting.
The state is expected to pay for about 35 percent of the project, which represents about $17 million. Barrington school officials last month asked lawmakers if they could kick in another $11 million under proposed legislation.
