St. Luke's School's 8th-Graders Getting iPads
The Catholic school in West Barrington will put iPads in the hands of all its students over the next few years.

Eighth-graders at St. Luke’s School in Barrington will be given iPads to start the school year next week.
The 16 eighth-graders in the Catholic school in West Barrington are expected to use the electronic devices in the classroom for science, math and language arts, according to Claudia Vincent, the school’s technology director.
"I'm excited... I'm anxious. It's a whole new world," she said in a story on wpri.com. "We think it will be a positive experience for the students.”

Students have already been using Smartboards at the school. All eighth-graders are expected to have an iPad in their hands by the end of the second week of school.
The school’s technology plan calls for all seventh-graders to have iPads by next fall. Sixth-graders will get iPads the following year.
