BCWA to Conduct Hydrant Flushing This Week

The Bristol County Water Authority is scheduled to conduct hydrant flushing in Bristol and Warren starting this week, the agency announced on its website.

Warren is scheduled to start May 1, while Bristol's scheduled to begin May 8.

BCWA noted that the work, which involves clearing rust deposits from the cast-iron pipes, "may temporarily cause discolored water," and advised customers to run their water for five to 10 minutes to clear any issues.

Customers may also want to store water for use during the day, BCWA noted.
