Domestic Charges, DUI, False Gun Call, Request to Assist... Warwick?

The following information was provided by the Warren Police Department. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Warren Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents:

  • Brian Robinson, 38, of 224 Park Home, Newport, on a warrant issued by Newport Police for violating no-contact and protective orders, on Apr. 23 at 2 am. Newport officers presented him for a violation of bail terms set following a no-contest plea he entered on Oct. 23, 2012. He was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston.
  • Michael Laferriere, 42, of 41 Asylum Road, on Apr. 23 at about 5:45 pm on a warrant issued by Sixth District Court, Warwick, for failure to appear at an arraignment hearing on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Warren Police. He pleaded not guilty, and is scheduled for a May 17 pre-trial conference.
  • Sandra Cruz, 36, of 481 Public St., Providence, on a charge of driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on Metacom Avenue on Apr. 24 at about 2 am. She is scheduled for a May 10 arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick.
  • Jennifer Harris, 32, and Kristen Motta, 28, of 46 Warren Ave., on one count each of attempting to obtain food or accomodations with intent to defraud, on Apr. 25 at about 10:30 am. Motta is also awaiting trial in two separate cases, one for a felony charge of receiving stolen goods brought by Bristol Police, and the second for charges of breaking and entering; conspiracy; and receiving stolen goods under $1,500 brought by Warren Police. She was remanded to the ACI for violating terms of a no-contest plea she entered on Jan. 25 to charges of misdemeanor larceny and credit card fraud.
  • Andrew Wood, 19, of 91 Oak Drive, Riverside, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Apr. 25 at about 4:15 pm. He previously pleaded no contest to a similar charge on Apr. 17 filed by Barrington Police.
  • Gina Acciardi, 24, of 12 Company St., on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct, on Apr. 26 at about 4:45 pm.
  • Tina Gonzalez, 32, of 146 Main St., on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Apr. 27 at about 1:15 am. She is due for a May 17 pre-trial hearing in Sixth District Court on a separate charge of violating a protective order.
  • Richard Akervik, 42, of 31 Hope St., on a charge of DUI with blood-alcohol level of .15 or greater, second offense, following a traffic stop on Market Street on Apr. 28 at about 1 am. Officers presented him for arraignment at the police station, and he was released until a court date to be determined.
  • Didier Jean Philippe, 23, of 7 Riverdale St., Providence, on on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Apr. 28 at about 6 pm.
  • Joseph Rioux, 37, of 89 Market St., on charges of domestic assault, third offense, and domestic disorderly conduct, on Apr. 28 at about 11:30 pm. He was ordered held at the ACI without bail until a scheduled July 1 hearing.

Other reports:

  • Officers responded to Asylum Road on Apr. 24 at about 12:40 pm after two juveniles reported seeing a man with a gun in the woods behind their school. After determining that the call was a fake, officers referred the matter to school administrators for disciplinary action. 
  • After receiving calls about signs blocking the view of drivers at the corner of Main and Maple Streets, officers ensured that the signs and two planters were removed from the sidewalk.
  • Warren Police received a Mutual Aid call from rescue crews off Gaspee Point in Warwick, across Narragansett Bay from Warren, on Apr. 28 at about 5 pm for a report of a kite-boarder in distress. The rider was located, and the call cancelled.
