Drug Possession, Domestic Arrest, April Fool's Day Prank?

The following information was provided by the Warren Police Department. Where an arrest is noted, it does not indicate a conviction.

The Warren Police Department reported the following recent arrests and incidents:

  • Andrew Borges, 35, of 144 Oak Crest Drive, Riverside, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a motor vehicle stop at Market Street and Joe's Road on Apr. 1 at 4:05 pm. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on Apr. 12.
  • Joshua Santos, 22, of 7 Wood St., on charges of domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct on Apr. 3 at about 4:15 pm. He is due for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Warwick, on Apr. 12.
  • George Gomes, 53, of 49 Miller St., Seekonk, MA, on a felony drug possession charge on Apr. 3 at about 6 pm. He was remanded to the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston, for violating bail terms set following his Sept. 26, 2012, arrest by Bristol Police on a felony drug possession with intent to deliver charge. He is due for a bail review on the earlier charge on May 2.
  • Jonathan Cioe, 37, of 285 Market St., on a charge of driving with a suspended license, on Apr. 5 at about 12:05 am.
  • Benjamin Bairstow, 35, of 189 Dartmouth Ave., Pawtucket, on on a charge of driving with a suspended license, on Apr. 5 at 6 pm.
  • Michael Mello, 37, of 146 Main St., following his arrest by Woonsocket Police on a warrant issued by Warren Police for violating a no-contact order, on Apr. 5 at 7 pm. He is awaiting trial on felony charges of domestic assault, third offense, and domestic disorderly conduct.
  • Tamra Balasco, 26, of 30 Annawamscutt Road, Bristol, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, on Apr. 5 at about 11 pm.
  • Myles Weeks, 26, of 56 Schoolhouse Road, on a charge of reckless driving, following a stop on Schoolhouse Road on Apr. 6 at about 4:30 pm. He is also awaiting trial on drug possession and driving in possession of drugs charges brought by East Providence Police.

Other reports:

  • Officers responded to Old Market Street on Apr. 1 at 7:15 am for a report of a car covered in toilet paper and aluminum foil. The car was apparently vandalized overnight.
  • A fallen stop sign at Oak and Franklin Streets was reported to the town Department of Public Works on Apr. 2 at about 10 am.
  • On Apr. 4 at about 8:30 pm, a resident of Monast Street reported the theft of a basin sink and told officers the suspect was driving an older-model Chevrolet pickup truck.
  • Officers went to a home on Child Street on Apr. 5 at about 2:45 am to investigate a report of a possible wallet theft. When they arrived at the home, officers found the wallet in a hallway of the residence.
  • No charges were files against a teen driver whose vehicle struck The Square Peg restaurant on Apr. 6 at about 2:30 pm.
