Friday, Apr. 12:

  • 9 am: Religion and State Conference at Roger Williams University Law School, 10 Metacom Ave. Guest speakers, presentations of articles, and more focusing on the church-state relationship around the world. Walk-ins welcome. $100. Also Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 13 and 14.
  • 10 am: Daffodil Days at Harbor Bath & Body in Bristol. Kids parade at 10, dog parade at 11, and daffy hat pageant at noon, plus additional events at and a storefront decorating competition among several local merchants. Free. Continues Saturday and Sunday.
  • 7 pm: Open Mic Night at The Coffee Depot, Main Street, Warren. Take the stage and play your heart out. Free.

Saturday, Apr. 13:

  • 10:30 am: Mornings in the Vegetable Garden at . Assistant Grounds Manager Dan Christina leads a tour of the Blithewold vegetable garden and offers tips for DIY veggie farmers. Free.
  • 2 pm: Piping Plover Slideshow Presentation at the Audubon Education Center in Bristol. Photographer Geoff Dennis and The Nature Conservancy present a look at the piping plover and human efforts to protect their habitat.
  • 5 pm: Music Workshops with the Mary McGuire Band at Stone Church Coffeehouse. Learn more about lead singing, bass, and mandolin from members of the group. $10, free with ticket purchase to 7:30 pm show.
  • 7:30 pm: Mary McGuire Band at Stone Church Coffeehouse. American roots music by acclaimed players in a family-friendly environment. $15, student half-price, kids under 5 free. Rescheduled from Feb. 23.
  • 7:30 pm: "Link for the Missing Link" at Roger Williams University Performing Arts Center. Recent graduates perform a piece that looks at the effect of media on society. Free.

Sunday, Apr. 14:

  • 1 pm: Family Sensory Walk at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens, and Arboretum. Open all five senses to the beauty of Blithewold's gardens, hosted by horticulturists Gail Reed and Tricia Bailey. $8.
  • 3 pm: Duke Ellington Concert at Blithewold. Baritone John Murelle sings from the Duke's songbook, accompanied by William Merrill [piano] and Mick Carlon, Ellington author. $15 for members, $17 for non-members.
