The Davis-Tennon Foundation, founded by award-winning actress Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon, has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the MasterCard Impact Fund to support its growing community initiatives in Central Falls and the surrounding region.

The grant will provide general operating support to advance the Foundation’s mission of removing barriers for families, expanding access to opportunity, and building strong, connected communities—beginning in Rhode Island and with long-term aspirations for national reach.

“This grant is not just an investment in our foundation—it’s an investment in the resilience, creativity, and potential of our community,” said Angelo Garcia, Chair of the Davis-Tennon Foundation. “MasterCard’s support allows us to build on the work we’ve started and extend it to reach more families and youth who deserve meaningful opportunities.”
