• Providence Mayor Smiley tries to calm fears after ‘setback' in Brown shooting investigation (bostonglobe.com) — Central Falls residents should know local officers are among several Rhode Island police departments helping Providence and federal authorities after a recent shooting at Brown University. Mayor Brett Smiley is stressing there’s no known ongoing threat, while police and the FBI expand their search for video and increase patrols around campus and nearby neighborhoods.
   

• Healey demands ICE stop using Massachusetts airport (nepm.org) — People held at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls are among those being quietly flown out of New England on ICE charter flights from Hanscom Field in Massachusetts. Gov. Maura Healey is urging federal officials to stop using these private flights, arguing they separate detainees from families and lawyers and undermine due process protections.
