CCFD Board of Directors Candidate: Maureen Jendzejec
Maureen is one of 12 candidates vying for a seat on the Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors, which will be decided with an all-day vote on June 29.
Maureen Jendzejec is a lifelong Coventry resident with a significant background in banking and finance. She is the Senior Vice President of lending services at Coventry Credit Union and possesses skill and expertise in the areas of debt and credit management, finance and planning, as well as consumer and real estate lending. She has also been the Chairperson of the Coventry Credit Union Credit Committee since 1981.
If elected to the Board, Maureen plans to work with the district's present creditors to find a solution that will satisfy what they are owed without having to raise taxes an exorbitant amount, like what has been proposed to district taxpayers in the past.
"I want to try and do what is right to make sure that the people of Central Coventry are safe, that the firefighters can work, and so we can get out of this debt that we're in," she said. "I'm an honest individual as well as a taxpayer and I hope that I get the opportunity to help solve the district's problems."
