CCFD Board of Directors Candidate: Steve Fay
Steve is one of 12 candidates vying for a seat on the Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors, which will be decided with an all-day vote on June 29.

Steve Fay, a 56-year-old Coventry resident has been in the fire service industry for 38 years, the last 28 with the City of Warwick Fire Department, and is presently a Captain on Ladder Company #1.
He holds Bachelor degrees in Business Administration as well as Fire Safety from Providence College.Â
If Fay is elected to the Board, he plans to first begin to draft a working budget of necessity, followed by a short-term plan for the district. Meanwhile, hazards, risks and community needs must be assessed, which will then be helpful in establishing a long-term goal. He believes that such a goal would revolve around the concept of a single town-wide fire district with one fire chief.

In his campaign mailing, Fay states that his "ONE Plan" will save taxpayer dollars and keep residents safe. He believes it would allow for efficiency through the pooling of resources and realizing cost efficiencies, and effectiveness as one fire district with one chief would better protect residents.
"It's common sense. ONE Town. ONE Chief. ONE Fire Department," reads the mailer.

"I have had enough of people who have their own agendas especially politicians who lie and the lies are easily proven with some research," said Fay. "I am running because the district needs to be corrected, the service needs to be delivered and the tax payers need to be safe," said Fay.Â
