Coventry Firefighters Holding 'Fill The Boot' Fundraiser

Firefighters will be collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Friday and Saturday.

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry firefighters will hold a "fill the boot" fundraiser this Friday and Saturday, with proceeds going to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Members of the firefighters union will be stationed at the Anthony Fire Station at Fairview Avenue and Washington Street, at Sandy Bottom road and in front of Crestwood Liquors. They will be collecting at the following times:

  • Friday: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

"Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated," the union said in a Facebook post. "We accepted pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars etc. Every little bit helps to fights against this awful disease."

Drivers in the area are asked to slow down for the safety of the firefighters collecting donations.
