Coventry Man Accused Of Robbing Dollar General In West Warwick

Police say Mark Montefusco, 60, of Coventry, robbed the Dollar General store on Main Street in West Warwick at gunpoint.

WEST WARWICK, RI — A Coventry man was arrested after police said he robbed a Dollar General store in West Warwick at gunpoint on Tuesday.

Mark Montefusco, 60, was charged with first-degree robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Third Division District Court.

Around 9:11 p.m., West Warwick police received a call from an employee at the Dollar General at 1029 Main St. She told officers she was robbed at gunpoint, and the suspect left with cash.

Police said they got a description of the suspect and a possible vehicle involved. Officers searched the area, but did not find the suspect or the vehicle.

West Warwick police said they reviewed store security footage, and with the help of Coventry police, identified Montefusco as the suspect after interviewing several people of interest. He was then arrested.
