Coventry Police Charge West Warwick Man With Home Invasion
Joseph Cevoli, of West Warwick, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the New London Turnpike home invasion, police said.

COVENTRY, RI–Joseph Cevoli, of West Warwick, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the New London Turnpike home invasion, police said. Tips, the police said, led detectives to Cevoli, 47, who was ultimately identified by the victim using a photographic lineup, police said. The pregnant woman and her young son were home when Cevoli broke in and slapped her around. Her testimony helped detectives obtain a warrant to search his home, police said, where they found "clothing and shoes worn" during the break-in. They also seized jewelry and a car believed to be the one used in the crime.
"Cevoli has an arrest record that spans over 30 years," police said, "and includes over 50 arrests for robbery, burglary, thefts, and the sale and use of narcotics." He is due in court on Thursday, charged with Breaking and Entering and Simple Assault.
