COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry police officer was treated for minor injuries at Kent County Hospital after he was involved in a crash. The accident happened at 7:32 Wednesday morning on Flat River Road at the corner of Raymond's Point Road, as officers were responding to a complaint about an assault, police said. The other driver also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the hospital. The accident is still under investigation.
