Coventry Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspect
A West Warwick man is accused of pepper-spraying employees at Bill's Liquors before stealing cash from the register.

COVENTRY, RI — Coventry police are searching for the man who robbed a liquor store in town over the weekend. An armed robber is accused of pepper-spraying employees at Bill's Liquors before running away with cash.
The armed robbery happened just after 10 p.m. Two panic alarms were tripped, and callers told emergency dispatchers that a man was yelling in the store.
Store employees told police that a man came in with a gun in one hand, and what appeared to be pepper spray in the other. He then sprayed the employees with the pepper spray, told them to get down and demanded money from the cash register. He then left with the cash and drove away.

The suspect was identified as West Warwick resident Raymond Silva.
Police checked his last known address, but he was not home. They later determined that he had been at the house, then left in a different vehicle, a gold 2004 Nissan Murano with the Rhode Island license plate QZ 337.

In Silva's house, West Warwick and Coventry police found a black .177 caliber BB gun and "other evidence used in the robbery."
Police are still searching for Silva. Anyone who sees him is encouraged not to approach him, and to call Coventry police at 401-826-1100 with any information.
