Coventry Police: Suspicious Man Lurking At Basketball Courts
A youngster reported a man in his 60s approached him and said his mother told him to go with the stranger. The boy, 12, fled.
COVENTRY, RI — A 12-year-old boy ran away from a stranger at the Monroe Drive basketball courts Friday night after the man insisted the boy's mother wanted him to go with him. Police said a blue pickup truck was seen in the area around the same time. The incident happened at 8 p.m. Coventry police said the man is white and described as in his 60s, with a grey beard. He was wearing jeans, a white shirt and a black cap.
