Five Things, July 15: Tennis Registration, CCFD Board Meeting and More

Today is Monday, July 15, 2013 and here are five things you should know about.


CCFD Board Meeting: Tonight at 7 p.m., the newly-elected Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors will meet at the CCFD Tax Collector's Office, located in the Town Hall Annex on Flat River Road. Members will report on recent committee appointments and vote on plans for the district's ladder truck. Click here to view this evening's agenda.

Tennis Lesson Registration: Register today for the Coventry Parks & Recreation Department's Summer Tennis Lessons for Adults Only (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7:30 p.m.) that rungs from July 18-August 8. Cost is $25 for all seven classes. Registration is ongoing in the Parks & Rec office from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call 822-9107 for more information.

Steak Fry Reservations: Wednesday is the finally day to make reservations for the Coventry Men's Club Steak Fry & Chicken Dinner, to be held on July 19 at 7 p.m. A steak dinner is $12.99, chicken is $10.99. Live music will follow the meal. Reservations may be made by calling 385-3536.

Artisans and Crafters:
 The Friends of the Coventry Public Library are now accepting applications for artisans and crafters for the 3rd Annual Fall Artisan Fair to be held on Saturday, Oct. 5. Contact Virginia at lynchkids96@verizon.net or call (401) 826-1122 for an application or more information.

Plan Ahead - Pasta Dinner Fundraiser: Tickets are now available for the July 27 fundraising event, "Raising the Roof On Humanity", a pasta dinner organized by the wives and significant others of the Central Coventry firefighters, with the hopes of raising enough money to repair the leaking roof of the late CCFD Battalion Chief Bill Hall's house. The dinner will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the West Warwick Elks Club (60 Clyde St., West Warwick) and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children.
