Five Things, July 31: PYO Berries, Fire District Meetings and More

Today is Wednesday, July 31, 2013 and here are five things to know about the week ahead.

PYO Berries: From 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday at Alpacas of Harkney Hill (1394 Harkney Hill Rd.), customers can "Pick Your Own" low and high-growing wild blueberries and huckleberries to purchase. Informational alpaca demonstrations are also offered at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes! For more information, call 397-4761.

'Books Are Wings' Party: Today is the final day to register for the Coventry Public Library's 2013 "Books Are Wings" Party, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on August 1! Children ages 3 and up are invited to the event featuring book giveaways, crafts and refreshments. Books Are Wings is a non-profit organization that has worked for 13 years to put books in the hands of children from preschool age through junior high in order to promote childhood literacy. To register, visit the Library or call 822-9102.

Fire District Meetings: 

CLL Fall Ball: Registration for Coventry Little League's Fall Ball season is now open online at www.coventrylittleleague.com! Registration ages for the upcoming season range from 8 to 12 years old and are grouped by 8/9's,  10/11's and 12's, however exceptions may be made for players wishing to "play up". Artisans and Crafters: The Friends of the Coventry Public Library are now accepting applications for artisans and crafters for the 3rd Annual Fall Artisan Fair to be held on Saturday, Oct. 5. Contact Virginia at lynchkids96@verizon.net or call (401) 826-1122 for an application or more information.
