Five Things, July 4: Fireworks, Trash Pickup Delay and More
Today is Thursday, July 4, 2013 and here are five things you should know about.

Fireworks: Coventry's Annual Johnson's Pond 4th of July Fireworks Display will take place tonight at 9:30 p.m.! Pick your favorite viewing spot and feel free to share your firework photos here on Coventry Patch! Click here if you're interested in making a donation to the Johnson's Pond Civic Association for next year's display.
Trash/Recycling Pickup: If you have trash and recycle pickup today, Thursday or Friday, your pickup will be delayed one day this week because of the holiday. So, Wednesday pickup moves to Thursday, Thursday pickup moves to Friday, and Friday pickup moves to Saturday. This week only!
What's open and what's closed? Banks will be closed. Markets will be open. Liquor stores will be open, but contact them directly for hours. Restaurants are open on a case-by-case basis. All school and municipal offices are closed, as well as police and fire administration offices (records, tax collection, etc.)
Safety: If you buy your own fireworks to do at home, make sure to use caution and have a bucket of water nearby (yes, I speak from experience!). Check out some more firework safety tips here.
