Monday Essentials: Life-Size Dinosaurs, School Committee Topics and More

HHFD Meeting: The Hopkins Hill Fire District Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. meet this evening (Aug. 5) at HHFD's station on Bestwick Trail. Topics of discussion include officer reports and any old business that needs to be revisited. Click here for tonight's agenda.

School Committee Topics: On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Coventry School Committee will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. at the School Dept. Administration Offices (1675 Flat River Rd.). Topics to be addressed include a presentation on school classifications, school calendar revision and more. Click here to view Tuesday's agenda.

CPL Dino Program: This Tuesday, the Coventry Public Library swill host a dinosaur program at 2 p.m. Children ages 5-12 are invited to join Dinoman and his trusty raccoon friend Reflex to learn all about dinos of the Mesozoic Era in this special event that is part of the Library's 2013 "Dig Into Reading" Summer Reading Program! No registration required.

Dog Park Fundraising Help: Lisa Finneran, President of the newly-formed Coventry Dog Park Association, is looking for volunteers to help raise donations to go towards building the highly-anticipated dog park behind the Town Hall Annex on Flat River Road. If you are interested, or have suggestions for raising funds, contact Lisa at Lfinneran12@gmail.com.

Community Blood Drive: From 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, the RI Blood Center will be holding a blood drive in the meeting room of the Western Coventry Fire Department (1110 Victory Hwy., Greene). Be a hero for a day just by stopping by to donate!
