40-Year-Old Man Killed In Cranston Motorcycle Crash

Cranston police say both speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the fatal motorcycle crash on Old Bald Hill Road.

CRANSTON, RI — A Warwick man died in a motorcycle crash in Cranston on Tuesday morning, according to police.

Police said the crash happened around 1:14 a.m.on Old Bald Hill Road near the intersection of Cottrell Street. When officers arrived, they found Robert Seeley, 40, lying in the middle of the street, suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

According to police, Seeley was not wearing a helmet and lost control of his motorcycle just before the intersection of Old Bald Hill Road and Cottrell Street. Police said Seeley was thrown off his bike, which skidded across the road before striking the curb.

Police said Seeley's driver's license was suspended. He also was not licensed to operate a motorcycle, and his bike was not registered, according to police.

Police said both speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash.
