Cranston Animal Shelter Gets No Kill Recognition
The recognition came from the Best Friends Animal Network, a nonprofit that partners with thousands of shelters, throughout the U.S.

CRANSTON, RI — The Cranston Animal Shelter was recognized by a national organization as a no kill animal shelter for 2022, police said Tuesday.
The recognition came from the Best Friends Animal Network, a nonprofit that partners with thousands of public and private shelters, rescue groups, spay/neuter organizations and other animal welfare organizations throughout the U.S. According to Best Friend's website, the organization's mission is to save the lives of homeless cats and dogs through collaboration, information-sharing and implementation of proven lifesaving strategies.
"Congratulations to the staff at the Cranston Animal Shelter for being recognized by the Best Friends Animal Network as a no kill animal shelter for 2022," Cranston police said in a statement. "We are proud of this designation and are fully committed to the humane treatment of all animals that come into our care and custody. Please considering adopting one of our deserving animals. They will be forever grateful."

Animals for adoption can be found on the Cranston Animal Shelter's Facebook page and Petfinder. The shelter is located at 920 Phenix Ave. and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
