CRANSTON, RI — Without community leaders, Cranston wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

What does this community leader do?

Marc is retired and has devoted himself entirely to serve the community especially the rather large Armenian community of Rhode Island in so many and diverse ways.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

Marc asks for nothing and gives 100%. Without Marc's devoted service so many activities of our vibrant community would go unserved or worse disappear. He also by example is able to engage others to take servant responsibility to make our events greater.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Marc, has chaired our church Food Festival for many years, our Bazaar, oversees grounds and facilities. He is relentless and tireless in his care. He also keeps many of the Cranston Armenian Men fellowship activities going by organizing monthly pizza fellowship for the Knights of Vartan service group and organizes and enables many fund-raising events which have local and international ramifications. Regardless of the many events Marc organizes and leads to successful conclusion, he is always ready to help neighbors and those in need, fixing roofs of elderly, shoveling snow, cutting grass, helping folks move when necessary. These are some of the things that go unnoticed yet he is so greatly valued by the Knights of Vartan a service group, the Saints Sahag and mesrob Armenian Church and many others. He is an Alumnus of Brown University and Moses Brown and is often seen with his Brown Hockey Alumni at games where he once starred. In spite of his very active service and ever presence, Marc still manages to regularly participate in CrossFit, skating and is the first one at church on Sunday mornings. He is so highly regarded, valued and appreciated by his church family, his town of Cranston, neighbors and the Armenian community of Rhode Island at large, including the Armenian Evangelical Community as well. He recently spent months at the side of a grieving family and helped with tying up so many loose ends after the untimely passing of their brother to COVID 19. Marc is such a worthy candidate for recognition although he would never seek his own recognition.
