Cranston East: No School Friday After Crews Investigate Incident
There is no official word yet about what's happened at the school, but firefighters are investigating a possible carbon monoxide leak.

CRANSTON, RI—Firefighters went to Cranston High East on Thursday. Witnesses said three or four rescues responded for patients, and speculation was that high carbon monoxide readings were being reported inside the school building. However, all the Cranston's Fire Department's deputy chiefs are at Cranston East High, so no official information is yet available about the incident. The dispatcher said it may be this evening before details will be given.
According to WJAR-TV's report, the firefighters' readings did not show any elevated carbon monoxide levels, but dozens of students reported symptoms, such as headaches. The school will be closed Friday.
