Cranston Mother & Son Indicted For Murder
The victim's body was discovered burning alongside a road in Attleboro, Mass.

CRANSTON, RI— Xavier Vidot, 17, and Melonie Perez, 36, both of Cranston, were indicted Wednesday in connection with the murder of Valdez Loiseau, the state Attorney General's office said. His body was discovered by an Attleboro police officer. Vidot, who is being charged as an adult, will stand trial on one count of murder and one count of using a firearm in a crime of violence. Perez is charged with compounding a felony, failure to report a death; and misprision of a felony.
Police allege Vidot shot and killed Loiseau on July 17. Perez allegedly covered up the crime and tried to obstruct justice.
They are due Jan. 17 in Providence Superior Court for arraignment.
