Cranston Police Identify Man Killed In Head-On Crash Involving 2 Work Vans

Cranston police say the Leominster, Massachusetts, man was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries there.

CRANSTON, RI — Cranston police have identified a Massachusetts man who died in a head-on crash between two vans on Monday.

Police said Garrison Gonzalez, 61, of Leominster, Massachusetts, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, but he succumbed to his injuries there.

Emergency officials were called to the crash on Scituate Avenue involving two work vans on Monday evening. Police said one of the vans belonged to Life Supply Corporation and was carrying 44 oxygen cylinders, some of which leaked after the collision.

Police said Gonzalez was driving the Life Supply Van.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police said impairment does not appear to be a factor.
