Cranston Ready to Hire Poll Workers for November Election

Qualified candidates could earn up to $200 for a day's work.

CRANSTON, RI—The general election is more than a month away, but Cranston's Board of Canvassers is already busy with preparations.

Among the tasks is finding good candidates to work at the polls.

The city announced on Wednesday that poll workers are needed for the election to go smoothly in Cranston and qualified workers will be paid anywhere from $175 to $200 depending on the assignment.

Candidates must be registered to vote in Rhode Island, able to read the state Constitution in English, write their own name and attend a training followed by a brief test at the end.
