Cranston Student Writes, Illustrates A Children's Adventure Book
Nicholas Bramble, who attends Conception Catholic School in Cranston, wrote "Adventures at Bramble Woods," a 99-page adventure.

WARWICK, RI — A 13-year-old Rhode Island wrote his first children's adventure book, and it debuted as a best new release on Amazon.
Warwick resident Nicholas Bramble, a student at Conception Catholic School in Cranston, wrote and illustrated "Adventures at Bramble Woods," a 99-page adventure. Inspired by the Lighthouse Inn, in Narragansett and the hotels and mountains in New Hampshire, the debut book re-imagines a long-forgotten hotel and brings it back to its better days.
"When I see an abandoned building, I think about what it once was, and, what it could be," Bramble said. "So, I imagine what I would do with it if I owned the buildings, which included writing my thoughts on pieces of paper, and my iPad."

In between the writing, Nicholas used his experience as an artist to draw illustrations for the book, having trained at Nancy Stephen School of Art. After two years of writing, scanning, drawing, learning, and pondering how to get the book done, he finally completed the book, and self-published it on Amazon.
The book takes you on a journey through mountain’s and an old hotel with the hopes of bringing a neglected hotel back to life. The characters in the book work together in the hopes they can get the hotel renovated with the little funds they have on hand. In the end, there’s a treasure hunt that leaves everyone with a big surprise.

"I had lots of fun creating characters out of people I knew, and that included adding my mom and, aunts and uncles, my dog, and even great-grandparents into the mystery," Bramble said. "I hope many kids find it fun and suspenseful."
