Cranston's Judy Sandin Recognized For Work In Church Community

CRANSTON, RI — Without community leaders, Cranston wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

What does this community leader do?

Judy Sandin is a well-loved leader in our church community of Faith Chapel. She heads up and coordinates 8 different volunteer categories in our church: Scripture & Prayer, Luncheons, Refreshments, Greeters, Women’s Bible Study/Fellowship, the Midweek Recharge Meal, Christmas Decorations, and Flowers for Easter and Christmas. She always has a kind and positive outlook. Judy is a woman of deep faith who practices what she teaches. Have a problem or a blessing? Judy will pray for you and with you on the spot. She and her husband Earl have raised three children and enjoy several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A true testament to her faith is that the congregation also enjoys her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Over their many decades of marriage, Judy and Earl have taken in many young people who have lost their way. With their help, and the Lord’s blessings, these young people have benefitted from the loving Christ focused direction they provided.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

In a world where people often hide their religious beliefs or push faith out of their lives completely, Judy’s faith shines as a bright light.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Judy is a humble, nonstop dynamo for the Lord. She does this by being an example unabashedly. Many people have benefitted from her and her faith. However, Judy would not take the credit. That belongs to God. Let us give her credit for following the Lord's example over a lifetime.
