David Letterman Praises RI Hospital After Taking A Tumble In PVD
Letterman said he has "nothing but lovely things to say" about Rhode Island Hospital's emergency department.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A famous name had plenty of kind words to say about Rhode Island's largest hospital after taking a spill in Providence. Late-night icon David Letterman said he has "nothing but lovely things to say" about Rhode Island Hospital's emergency department.
In a video posted to Lifespan's YouTube channel Thursday, Letterman told the story of how, while walking around Providence with his son last August, he tripped and hit his head on the sidewalk, knocking him unconscious.
"They take me and my son in the ambulance to the emergency room and they stitched me up," he said, praising his experience in the emergency department.

"What an experience," Letterman said. "It's the kind of thing where it was scary at the time, but because of the people in the emergency room helping me, it became sort of a fun little project."
The comedian went on to say that his experience "certainly [was] not life and death," thanking the hospital staff "for making time for [him.]"
