Fiery Fatal Crash in Cranston Under Investigation
A car rolled over and burst into flames on Pontiac Avenue early Saturday morning.
CRANSTON, RI—Authorities are investigating a fiery fatal crash in Cranston early Saturday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Pontiac Avenue across the street from Phillips Memorial Baptist Church.
Police and firefighters responded to find a car severely damaged after rolling multiple times before bursting into flames. At least one person was trapped inside.

Witnesses at the scene said the car lost control and rolled several times before coming to a stop partially on the sidewalk and the parking lot entrance to the former Seabra Market.
Police closed the road to conduct an accident investigation. Debris and personal items were strewn across the roadway and respondents draped a sheet over the wreckage.
