CRANSTON, RI — As part of ongoing bridge work, the ramp from Interstate 295 North to Route 37 East in Cranston will close, starting Tuesday. The closure is expected to last up to two days.

Last week, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced a lane closure in the area, part of the same project.

The closure of Exit 3A is needed to prevent a hazard for construction workers and drivers, RIDOT said.

While the ramp is closed, drivers will be detoured to Exit 3B to Route 37 West. From there, drivers can turn around on Route 37 at the Natick Avenue traffic light. At least one lane will be open on Route 37 North throughout the construction project.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and are asked to slow down in the work zone.
