Johnston Teacher Suspended Amid School Fund Misuse Probe
Johnston High School Teacher Greg Russo is suspended with pay and Johnston Police are investigating.

Johnston police confirmed Tuesday that they have begun an investigation into alleged misappropriation of school funds by Johnston High School teacher Greg Russo.
Johnston police said the school department contacted police after their own investigation.
Russo has been placed on paid leave since the allegations surfaced. Police are not providing any details about the investigation.

Johnston Police Dep. Chief Dan Parrillo told WPRI that police were contacted by the district about a week ago. Parrillo said he had “done something wrong within school policies” and police will determine if the action rose to the level of a crime.
School officials aren’t commenting about the case.

Russo is a faculty adviser and head of the science department at the school.
