Limping Jewel Thief On The Loose: Cranston Cops

The house breaker stole a "large amount of jewelry," police said.

CRANSTON, RI — A limping burglar made off with a "large amount of jewelry" from a Cranston home, police said.

The house breaker "forced entry through a window and stole a large amount of jewelry" from a Wheeler Avenue residence shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, the Cranston Police Department posted to its Facebook page.

Police said the thief appeared to be in his 40s, has a taller build and was wearing a red full-zip Old Navy hoodie, a black and white patterned shirt, gray pants, and gloves.

He also appeared to walk with a slight limp, police said.

"If you recognize this individual or have any information regarding this incident, please contact Detective Robert Lindsay at 401-477-5142," the post said. "Anonymous tips can be submitted by texting CRANSTONPD with your tip to 847411."
